The Superior Police Department is looking for some qualified women and men to join the force.

Applicants do not need any law enforcement experience, but need to be between the ages of 18 - 55, no have no serious criminal convictions, a high school diploma or GED, and have completed 60  accredited semester credits/units of college, and must pass vision requirements.

If not already certified by the state of Wisconsin, recruits must complete the recruit academy and 14 hours of on-the job field training. As an officer in Superior you'll earn between $25.80 - $32.01 per hour.

Superior police work a 4 on, 4 off rotation of 12-hour shifts and start with two weeks of vacation with the ability to earn more. Officers will also get a take home squad car and retirement benefits from the Wisconsin retirement system. You can learn more about all the benefits here.

Superior Police officers will also get the opportunity to get special assignments like a Crisis Response Team negotiator, drone or robot operator for the Tactical Technology Team, a crime scene investigator and more.

There is also room for advancement withing the Superior Police department with a command structure of Chief, Assistant Chief, two Captains, two Lieutenants, and six Sergeants.
