Three Downtown Duluth Avenues are Being Converted from One Way to Two Way Streets

Starting next week 3 downtown Avenues will be converted to two way streets, making getting around downtown a little more convenient.

According to WDIO the project includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd Avenue West between Superior street and 4th street. Work on the project will start Monday July 17th at 9am with the hope that all 3 avenues will be done within a week. They are projecting each street will take about 2 days to complete.

Each avenue will be completely closed including for parking. City officials are hoping this change will make it easier to access downtown businesses and ease some congestion next year when Superior street will be under major construction.
