Work to replace the traffic signal and improve accessibility at Highway 2 and 2nd Street in Proctor will close 2nd Street for about a month.  Officials with the St. Louis County Public Works Department are set to begin the work on Wednesday, August 7.

While the work is being performed, drivers will encounter detours.  Traffic heading westbound on 2nd Street will be detoured on Pionk Drive.  Eastbound traffic will be detoured on 3rd Street and 2nd Avenue.

According to the timeline issued by the St. Louis County Public Works Department, the entire project should be completed in four weeks - barring an unforeseen complications or inclement weather.
