According to GOMN almost one year ago thousands of women were part of The Women's March 2017 in St. Paul and one of those participants ran and the other is now running for Public Office.
Among the women pictured is Minnesota House Candidate Mindy Kimmel and newly elected Minneapolis City Council member Andrea Jenkins. Kimmel is a licensed family therapist who studied psychology at University of Minnesota Duluth and is running as a Democrat in District 16B in her native city of New Ulm.
Kimmel said she was inspired after the March last year and thought to herself what do I do next? Jenkins herself made headlines when she became one of only 2 transgender people to be elected to a city council in a major metropolitan area. What a great honor for both of these women to be recognized on a National Stage!
