We may not be able to gather to enjoy live concert performances by talented student musicians, but that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy live music in the Northland.

The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department is hosting a series of free virtual concerts through the month of December that you can enjoy from anywhere. The concerts will feature performances by the UW-Superior Choirs, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble.

Here are the concerts that can be viewed virtually:

  • Symphonic Band & Percussion Ensemble Concert
    Tuesday, December 8, 2020
    7:30p.m. - 8:30p.m.
    Selections include works by Frank Ticheli, a new work by UWS’s own, Ian Deterling, as well as a world premier by Matthew Niemi (BA Music '21) depicting the sounds of winter.

  • Jazz Band Concert
    Thursday, December 10, 2020
    7:30p.m. - 8:30p.m.
    Featuring the music of Charles Mingus, Fred Sturm, Charlie Parker, Kenny Burrell and Roy Hargrove.
  • Season of Song
    Tuesday, December 15, 2020
    7:30p.m. - 8:30p.m.
    Join the UWS Choirs and Orchestra for a virtual performance of one of the most popular holiday traditions in the Twin Ports. This virtual performance will include holiday favorites as well as music full of hope and belonging.

While the concerts are free, you do need to register ahead of time, which is a quick and easy process.  Once registered for each concert, you'll then receive a video link that you can use to watch them on their scheduled day and time.
