UWS is Hosting a 125th Anniversary Community Celebration
Join the University of Wisconsin - Superior to help them celebrate their 125th anniversary.
The community is welcome to the free event on Tuesday, June 11th from 5 - 7 PM at the Yellowjacket Union's atrium and plaza.
The anniversary celebration will include free BBQ on the plaza, a sidewalk art festival, games including a campus-wide scavenger hunt, art-making, and a free concert from Big Top Chautauqua's Blue Canvas Orchestra starting at 7 PM.
UWS was founded in 1893 as a school to teach teachers and was known as the Superior Normal School. In 1964, state officials reclassified Wisconsin colleges as universities and from then on the school has been the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
