The Northland athletes who competed in this years Winter Olympics will be honored with a "Welcome Home Ceremony" on Tuesday February 27th at the DECC in the Lake Superior Ballroom from 4:30-6:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public with free parking at the DECC as  until 6pm.

Members of the U.S. Women's and Men's Curling Teams, Cross Country Skiing Coach Chad Salmela and other Olympic team representatives will be present. Doors will be opening at 4:30pm as the athletes and coaches will enter the ballroom under a canopy of curling brooms.

Duluth Mayor Emily Larson and Superior Mayor Jim Paine will be speaking and present a proclamation and special honor during the ceremony. Also, attendees will have a chance to to hear from some of the athletes with video footage from the games as well. Following the ceremony the general public will have a chance to interact with the athletes.

The team will be arriving home tonight to cheering family, friends and fans at 5:00 pm at the Duluth International Airport and will be escorted by Duluth and Superior Police as they depart for home from the airport.
