Wisconsin Lawmaker to Propose a State Designation for Cheese
Would you believe that the land of cheeseheads does not even have any statewide representation of this delicious food, until now.
According to WDIO.com A Wisconsin State Senate Committee is meeting today to discuss making cheese the official dairy product for the state of Wisconsin. The idea came from a group of 4th graders at a Wisconsin Elementary School.
Even though Wisconsin produces around a quarter of the country's 11 billion pounds of cheese per year, milk is the state's official beverage since 1987 and the cow became the official domestic animal in 1971. I say it is about time to behold the power of cheese!
