Quick...someone start a rumor about a Chipotle, Leanne Chin, or Noodles and Company coming to the Twin Ports!

While the Northland only has ONE Taco Bell to serve the masses, we still have one.  They don't have a Taco Bell in Bethel, Alaska. Where one prankster had most of the town thinking a branch of Taco Bell was coming to the area.

When the Bethel residents found out it was all a hoax, they were pretty disappointed. But Taco Bell heard about the prank and made up for it.

Taco Bell winched an entire truck full of Doritos Locos Tacos hundreds of miles into the town.

The nearest Taco Bell branch is 400 miles away in Anchorage.

The package included flying 150lbs of cheese, 500lbs of sour cream, 900lbs of beef, 300lbs of lettuce and 300lbs of tomatoes all the way from Anchorage. All in all it was around 10,000 tacos for the town of 6,000 people.

Of course, Taco Bell has now used the public relations move in a new ad.

And here's a home video of the delivery from a Bethel resident:
