Driving into work this morning I noticed that they have started the process of tearing down multiple structures to make room for one of three new CVS Pharmacies that are coming to the Twin Ports.

Crews have begun to take down the gas station that's been closed for years on the corner of 28th and Tower. Along with the gas station, 5 homes and another commercial building will be leveled to make room for the new 13,000 square foot pharmacy.

Top 5 Signs that Spring Has Sprung in Duluth/Superior

Today is the day! It's the Vernal Equinox, better known as the first day of Spring. What does that mean? Wikipedia defines it as "the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the center of the Sun being in the same plane as the Earth's equator." But to the

Top 5 Drives in the Northland to See the Fall Colors

Fall is by far my favorite season.  School finally starts, the weather cools down to sweatshirt weather, the Vikings start regular season football, and the smell of cinnamon and apples and pumpkin fill me with joy.  I love walks on fall evenings when your feet kick the dry leaves and the wind blows just enough to remind you it's there.  Fall is the time of year when the most beautiful colors nature has to offer come to life, if only for a brief period of time.  I'm not sure when I first realized that I was a fall lover, but I know it goes back to when I was a kid.  I still lived in the cities, and we had plenty of trees surrounding us.  However, we had to travel to really get the full "Leaf Changing Experience."  My favorite uncle Tom, who passed away in 1994, loved fall, and loved the fall colors.   One of his favorite things to do each September was take a drive up the North Shore.

Duluth vs. Superior

Well, it's done!  I'm a Minnesotant moving to Wisconsin.  Aside from brief stints away with the military, I've called Minnesota home since I was born.

I have so many mixed feelings about moving to the "other" side of the bridge.  I love the fact that the name of the city I'm moving to has a certain "superiority" over others, free garbage pick up, and flat roads.  I love cheese, and I'm excited to do more exploring in Pattison Park and Amnicon Falls and being that much closer to an Anchor burger.
