The Stars Come Out For Jingle Ball Concert in Minneapolis
Thousands of youthful music fans bared the frigid conditions to fill the sold out Xcel Energy Center on Monday night (14,000 fans.) iHeartRadio and KDWB improved everything about this years Jingle Ball compared to previous years. This years concert featured giant video screens with striking visuals displaying live action, a revolving stage complete with confetti blasters and pyrotechnics.
. The lineup consisted of 8 different acts that played short energetic sets and the concert lasted 3 and 1/2 hours. The night opened with Fifth Harmony, the bubbly and talented band from TV's X Factor. They displayed the art of harmonizing and a few moves as well.
Robin Thicke who has had a huge 2013 followed. He came out and went straight to business. He received loud screams when he performed one of the years biggest hits "Blurred Lines."
Punk rockers, Fall Out Boy took the stage next and rocked the house with their up beat and catchy songs. Bassist Pete Wentz waltzed all over the stage like he was shot out of a cannon.
Next Nickelodeon star, Ariana Grande showed off her striking voice. The 20 year old wore a Christmas themed short skirt and top as she put together a festive 17 minute set.
Enrique Iglesias displayed the most sex appeal of the night during his set. He paced the stage while singing a few of his hits. He got the girls screaming with excitement when he sat on a speaker at the front of the right side of the stage.
Flo Rida came out and displayed more ice than the local skating rink. He had the crowd of tweens jumping during his set. He handed out roses to some of the lucky concert goers. Other lucky females in the audience were brought onstage to take "selfies" with a shirtless Flo Rida.
Austin Mahone had dancers flipping all over the stage before he came out to perform. With his slick moves, charming good looks and enough swag to fill the place... He is definitely on the right track to stardom.
And finally the mega star headliner and (sorry to say Kanye) Artist of the year, Miley Cyrus ended the night with a bang. She didn't disappoint as the stage swung around to a short clip from "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and then the main reason why everyone came to the show entered the stage (actually wearing clothes.) Well it was a rather expensive, white fur coat. The stage was complete with 3 females dressed as reindeer and wearing white leotards, A drunken Santa that naughty Miley indeed twerked on while swigging from a bagged beverage. A twerking little person wearing a silver body suit complete with cone shapped breasts. And a woman dressed as a Christmas tree. She ended the night with her biggest hit to day "Wrecking Ball" as the crowd sang and danced along. She was only onstage for a total of 22 minutes but it was more than entertaining enough. She waived to the crowd and left the stage to confetti shooting everywhere and fireworks.
