Tonight is the big night!

We first met Solomon Witherspoon and Russ King months ago, we had them in the studio for the first time when they were opening up for Doomtree at Clyde Iron Works in January.  Then they came into the studio again when they opened for Three 6 Mafia.  (I went to that show--it was phenomenal!)  Now, with their first single "Dance Floor" in rotation on Mix 108, they'll be headlining the first ever, "Music Fights Cancer" concert to benefit the kids and families of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.   The idea for a free concert actually came about one morning when Solomon and Russ were in the studio and asked if we had any summer concerts coming up.  We didn't. Usually we advertise bands, but never actually put together a show.  So a few ideas were thrown around, and the idea of having a concert for charity came up.  Solomon and Russ were so excited with the idea of having a FREE concert for listeners, and raise money for an awesome charity.  We contacted Clyde Iron Works, and they were so great to not only welcome us in for this event, but to waive any fees associated with holding our event in their awesome concert space.  We called Sounds Unlimited for the Sound equipment we'd need for the bands, and they are also going to help us out no charge.  It goes to show that there are still people left who embrace the opportunity to showcase our unbelievable local musical talent here in the Twin Ports, and raise money to help the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

So here we are, just hours away from the first EVER "Music Fights Cancer."  I really hope to see you tonight!

In case you can't, here's 1017's first single, "Dance Floor."  I know you'll love it!

I hope you have a chance to come see DJ Dyami, the Bryan Olds Band, and 1017 tonight at Clyde Iron Works.  It will be awesome!
