5 Seasonal Beers to Try This Thanksgiving
I ran to the liquor store and did some reconnaissance for all of us of all the seasonal beers available right now. Here are five you should definitely try this turkey day.
Whether as an after meal drink or a pre-meal escape, beer is a must for Thanksgiving, so grab a bottle opener and let's get started.
Leinenkugel's Cranberry Ginger Shandy
Leinie's has this cranberry ginger shandy available through February, according to them "the cranberry and ginger flavor profile makes it a great pair for honey-glazed ham, brie cheese or a green salad with tart vinaigrette dressing." They also make the Snowdrift Vanilla Porter, a smooth and creamy brew, great for the holiday season.
Samuel Adams Winter Lager
Sam Adams is always coming up with great seasonal flavors, this Winter Ale is brewed with orange peel, ginger and cinnamon. This is available on its own or in a seasonal sampler pack.
Southern Tier Brewing Company's Pumking
This is the most unique offering I found available, from Southern Tier Brewing it's the Imperial Pumking Ale. They describe the flavor as having a malty sweetness with vanilla, clove, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and pie crust. Can we put some Cool Whip on top?
Great Lakes Brewing Co. Christmas Ale
This Christmas Ale is flavored with fresh honey, cinnamon, and ginger and according to the brewer, Great Lakes Brewing Co., "his pairs nicely with "Roast duck, spiced desserts, and ugly Christmas sweaters."
Blue Moon Gingerbread Spiced Ale
This seasonal offering from Blue Moon is another spicy selection, with a combo of ginger, cinnamon, and molasses. Try this in a 6-pack or in a Blue Moon sampler pack.
