Although it may sound a somewhat sacrilegious to some of you hardcore beer drinkers out there, but Anheuser-Busch is actually turning their beer into water … and donating it to the superstorm Sandy relief program.

The “King of Beers” has sent nearly 44,000 cases of their brew-into-water brand to the New York and New Jersey area in hopes of lending aid to the people affected by the hurricane. “Personally, for me it does mean a little bit more because I do have family affected by it,” said Anheuser-Busch plant manager Scott Vail.

Interestingly, Anheuser-Busch has been turning beer into water to donate to disaster-relief efforts since the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 and has delivered over 71 million cans of water since 1988.
