Duluth Cinema Hosting Early Viewing Event for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’
Thanks to the pandemic, we've been waiting a long time for this movie, and now we are just weeks away from the long-awaited sequel to 'Top Gun' hitting the big screen.
And the Duluth Cinema is one of a handful of theatres offering an "early access premiere" or what the movie studio has dubbed "Top Gun Tuesday." Tuesday, May 24th at 7 PM 'Top Gun: Maverick' is the showing in Duluth, and will be shown on the Marcus UltraScreen, the converted IMAX screen at the Duluth Cinema.
If you miss "Top Gun Tuesday", no worries, you'll only have to wait a day until it officially opens on Thursday, May 26th, and you'll have more viewing options, it will continue to play on the UltraScreen, but DreamLounger theatres will also be available.
I checked several showtimes throughout the holiday weekend, and many showings are already starting to fill up, so if you plan on seeing it opening weekend, get your tickets early. If you plan on seeing it first on the 24th, it looks like there are still plenty of good seats left, tickets are $20.69 each. Wait, that can't be right...on-hold music....nope it's right. Two tickets will cost $41.38.
This sequel comes 36 years after Maverick started his Top Gun training and stars Tom Cruise as Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell and Val Kilmer makes an appearance as Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky, other than that, the cast is filled with new faces to the franchise including, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, and Jon Hamm.
Official reviews have been coming out already, and I haven't seen a bad one yet, so I'm looking for this to be a fun movie to kick off the summer movie SZN, one that includes another sequel to 'Jurassic World', a fresh take on 'Elvis', origin story of Buzz Lightyear, and Jordan Peele drops 'Nope'. Oh, there is also a new Thor movie!
