I have been lucky enough to be involved with the Duluth Polar Bear Plunge for many years, and I have to say that each and every year I am amazed at how it is set up in such an orderly and amazing fashion down at the lakefront.

For the average plunger, the time they spend down at the actual plunge site is rather brief, get changed , plunge, get changed again, hop on the bus back to Grandmas and celebrate. But, if you take a minute to look around many volunteers have spent days upon days to set up a virtual tent city for the care and comfort of the plungers.

Between the changing tents, heaters , fire pits, inflatable Polar Bear Heated Tunnel the dock out into the water, (and again this year) cutting a hole in the ice, tons of manpower happens behind the scenes.

But the beauty of it all is that you never seen anyone with a frown, everyone is happy, laughing and loving every minute of it. It is all for a great cause, a one of a kind event that brings out the very best in people.

So here is a heartfelt Thank You to everyone behind the scenes for helping make this one of the best and most fun events in the area all year, and Thank You to everyone who has pledged, is plunging and friends and family cheering them on.

Let's do this, Polar Bear Plunge 2016! :)

About 48 hours to plunge time. We are getting the site comfy for you!
