One of the Twin Ports premier racing events happens this Saturday. The annual Fitger's 5K will take place in downtown Duluth on Saturday, April 27.  In order to accommodate the event, a variety of traffic closures and detours will impact drivers in the morning.

In general, the race will impact portions of Superior Street, London Road, and South Street - between 4th Avenue east and 23rd Avenue east.  Due to the construction this year on Superior Street, this years race will run out and back to the east from the front of Fitger's Brewery Complex.

Here are the specific details:

Starting at 8:15 AM, Superior Street from 4th Avenue East to 8th Avenue East, will close to traffic to allow set-up of the start and finish line. At 8:30 AM, Superior Street from 8th Avenue East to 10th Avenue East, London Road from 10th Avenue East to 23rd Avenue East, South Street from 15th Avenue East to 20th Avenue East, and the avenues between London Road and South Street, will close to traffic for the race.
