The second phase of a road construction project near Sandstone will get some attention during an upcoming pubic meeting.  Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation are hosting an open house session on Wednesday, April 20 to provide updates to the general public about the next round of work that's scheduled for Highway 123 to the Kettle River Bridge.

Unlike many of the meetings being scheduled by MNDOT over the last couple of years, this one will be held in-person at the Sandstone City Hall:  119 4th Street in Sandstone.  The meeting will start at 5:00 PM.

  • Complete roadway resurfacing
  • The section between Highway 23 and Division Street will be a reclaim project, with a 2-inch mill and overlay
  • The section between Division Street and Park Avenue will be a 2-inch mill and overlay
  • Realignment of Highway 123 and Highway 23 intersection
  • Pedestrian curb ramps - updated to meet current ADA standards
