Over the last couple of days, confidence among forecasters grew that an outbreak of storms was increasingly likely across Minnesota to start this week.

Among the risks with Monday's storms were the chances of tornadoes, and several were reported around Minnesota as the storms swept through the state through the afternoon and evening hours.

At certain points of Monday afternoon, multiple tornado warnings were in effect simultaneously across Minnesota. One such instance of that was in the 5 pm hour on Monday evening, when there were 7 different tornado warnings all active at once.

One of the well-documented tornadoes on Monday afternoon was one that swept through an area from near Staples, through Nisswa, and toward Aitkin. Numerous videos and photos of this tornado were captured, including this one near Motley.

Here's another look near Motley shortly before 4:30 Monday afternoon.

Here's a look at this same storm as seen north of Pillager.

Someone shared this video with WDIO TV of the same tornado passing over Gull Lake near Nisswa.

A little further south, in St. Cloud, heavy rain and strong winds were captured as tornado-warned severe storms moved through the area.

Further south yet, more tornadoes were spotted moving through the area of New Ulm, Nicolet, and Mankato in Southern Minnesota.

One storm chaser captured some visuals from these storms, including this one near New Ulm.

A little further east, near Nicolet, another person captured this video.

This is another look at the tornado near Nicolet in Southern Minnesota.

A storm chaser captured a pair of tornado videos near Mankato.

This week's unsettled weather pattern includes summerlike temperatures, rain, and thunderstorm chances through the rest of the week. The good news is that while there are some thunderstorm chances, widespread severe weather isn't anticipated as we get further into the week.
