Right before the non-waiver trade deadline, The Minnesota Twins made the deal to send fan favorite Brian Dozier to the Los Angles Dodgers for second baseman Logan Forsythe.

Let's compare the two, shall we:

Brian Dozier:

  • Age - 31
  • Height - 5'11"
  • Nickname - Doz
  • Hits - 927
  • Home runs - 167
  • RBIs - 491
  • Strike outs - 830
  • Avg - .248

Logan Forsythe:

  • Age - 31
  • Height - 6'1"
  • Nickname - Logie Bear
  • Hits - 640
  • Home runs - 63
  • RBIs - 252
  • Stirke outs - 605
  • Avg - .247

Logie Bear was drafted in '08, while the Doz was picked up in '09. Looks like we now have a little more height on second base, but the Doz has been slightly better when it comes to hitting. Dozier won the Minor League Player of the Year Award in 2012 and got a golden glove in the Majors last year.

The doz was a fan definetly a fan favorite and was always fun to watch. It's sad to see a play at his calibur leave, but I'm a little excited to see what's next for the Twinkies. This was the 5th and final trade before the deadline. They were able to pick up 7 prospects from the minors after trading 3rd baseman Eduardo Escobar (Arizona), and Pitchers Ryan Pressly (Houston), Zach Duke (Seattle), Lance Lynn (Yankees).
