Scottish Tea, Music, and Tour Hosted By Historic Church In Duluth
The First Presbyterian Church will host Scottish tea, music, and a tour of the historic church in Duluth.
According to the Zenith City archive, The First Presbyterian Church was first established back in 1869. The first regular service was held on the same day the Minnesota State Legislature made Duluth a city, back on March 6th, 1870. The congregation then moved diagonally across the street into a new church in 1891, which is what you see today.
On Saturday, September 24th from 1 pm - 4 pm, the historic church will host a Scottish Tea, a historical Tour of the building, and live music.
The Church is located at 300 East 2nd Street in Downtown Duluth. The tour will include seeing 25 of the historic stained glass windows, including seven designed by Tiffany, and four designed by Duluth's own Anne Weston. Not only will you get a guided tour, but you'll also hear music on the 1917 three-story Skinner pipe organ. Not only will you enjoy Scottish Tea, but you'll also have scones, clotted cream, finger sandwiches, and lemon curd tarts.
The event is limited to 125 guests with $40 a person for tickets. The day will go as followed:
- 1 pm - Guided tour of the historic church.
- 2:15 pm - Music on the historic three-story Skinner pipe organ.
- 3 pm - Scottish Tea with the scones, clotted cream, finger sandwiches, tarts, and lemon curd pastry.
