A partnership between the Minnesota Department of Health and St. Louis County Public Health are bringing free COVID-19 tests to the Iron Range for a two-day session.  The tests will happen Tuesday, July 28 and Wednesday, July 29 at the St. Louis County Fairgrounds in Chisholm.  The tests are open and available to anyone on the Iron Range.

Health organizers are encouraging anyone who wants to be tested to take part in the event - even if they don't have symptoms of COVID-19.  No insurance or identification is needed.  At the same time, county health officials are reminding residents that even though the event is happening in Chisholm, residents from across the entire Iron Range are welcome and encouraged to be tested.

While it's not mandatory, people are being encouraged to pre-register; this will give you a specific slot and minimize time spent waiting in line.  Click here to make that pre-registration.  There's also a link to register on the St. Louis County website; click here.

Tests will be done in a drive-through fashion - so people being tested won't even have to leave their vehicle.  A health care worker will approach your vehicle and gently insert the swab into your nose, swirl to get a good sample, then remove it and place it in a vial - which is then sent off to the lab for testing.  Results will be ready in a few days and will be communicated with the participant directly.

Dates/times:

  • Tuesday, July 28 - 12 Noon to 7:00 PM
