‘The Golden Girls’ Are Coming to the Big Screen in the Twin Ports
Everybody's favorite retired ladies are coming to the big screen for a special event screening of the best episodes of 'The Golden Girls'.
Marathon through 2 hours of classic episodes of the sitcom that aired 180 episodes on ABC between 1985 and 1992. The show starred four of the sassiest women in Hollywood, Betty White Estelle Getty Rue McClanahan, and Bea Arthur.
The special event is presented by Fathom Events and ABC Signature and will play locally on September 14th and 21st at 7 PM at the Lake Cinema in Hermantown. Tickets are $13.55 and available in advance here.
During the mini-marathon, some of the best episodes of the series including 'The Pilot', 'Grab That Dough', 'Journey to the Center of Attention', 'Henny Penny – Straight, No Chaser' and 'The Case of Libertine Belle.'
While the show was in prime time and considered 'family friendly', the organizers warn, "Some content may not be suitable for young children and could include mild violence, stronger language and some sexual situations/dialogue. Parents may want to watch with children under the age of 9."
Betty White is the only 'Golden Girl' still with us, she's 99 and will celebrate 100 in January. The other three ladies all died between 2008 and 2010. The show still airs in syndication, CMT bought the rights for the show in 2020 and the show currently streams on Hulu.
