The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed on a blockbuster trade that includes a third team, the Minnesota Twins.

According to ESPN.com, the headline of the trade is that the Boston Red Sox are sending former MVP Mookie Betts and left-hander David Price to Los Angeles for a package that includes outfielder Alex Verdugo.

What is of great interest to Minnesota fans is that the Twins are the third team involved in this trade.  The Twins will acquire starting pitcher Kenta Maeda from the Dodgers, while sending hard throwing pitcher Brusdar Graterol to Boston.

Kenta Maeda is 31 years old and will be under contract for the next four seasons at $3.0 million per year, according to sources. Last season he had a 4.04 ERA, 3.95 FIP, 9.90 K/9, 2.99 BB/9, and 2.5 fWAR for the Dodgers.

While Maeda isn't a staff ace, he does improve the starting pitching staff and will likely be the third starter in the Twins rotation at the start of the season.
