Minnesota based Best Buy said that it will close all 250 Best Buy Mobile locations throughout the U.S. by the end of May.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Best Buy is making the decision because "the cellphone business is no longer as lucrative as it was when the company began opening the small shops in malls across the country."

The company says the smaller Best Buy Mobile locations located in malls are actually more expensive to operate than their bigger retail locations.

No word on exactly when the location at the Miller Hill Mall will close or what will happen with the people that currently work there, hopefully, they can find room for them in their main big box store at the Burning Tree Plaza.

The Wall Street Journal reports that "Best Buy had about 1,000 big-box stores in the U.S. as of January 2017. It had about 150 big-box stores and 50 Mobile stores in Mexico and Canada."
