Brr! National Weather Service Duluth Says Expect Near-Freezing Temps this Weekend
Let's face it, it's been an overall brutal spring when it comes to our Northland weather. While there have been isolated nice days, cold weather has dominated.
You'd think that with us now being past the midway point in May, we would see warmer temps not only arrive, but actually stick around. Sadly, that doesn't appear to be the case as this weekend approaches.
The NWS used their US National Weather Service Duluth Minnesota Facebook page to break the brutal news.
Widespread near-freezing temperatures will be hazardous to sensitive to plants Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures in the low 30's expected Saturday as well.
Yes, you read that correctly, we will experience temperatures in the 30's again this weekend. It appears the cold weather just loves us all too much to leave.
The National Weather Service adds that Northland residents should prepare to cover or shelter their sensitive plants to prevent damage and destruction. Perhaps also bringing our winter jackets back out will also be in order.
The big question is will there be warmer night temps into next week? According to our media partners at WDIO-TV, the answer is yes but just barely. Sigh.
Here is their extended forecast as of Wednesday evening:
