City Of Superior Shares Thanksgiving Holiday Garbage Schedule Changes
The upcoming Thanksgiving holiday will bring changes to the garbage collection schedule for property owners in the City of Superior. The holiday will also bring changes to the recycling pickup schedule - albeit not in lock-step with the garbage schedule changes. Both sets of holiday-related changes will affect residents the week of November 22 through November 26.
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Superior Public Works Department will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 26 and November 27. This closure will also affect the Municipal Landfill on Moccasin Mike Road
Because of the holiday, there will be no garbage collection on those two days. To accommodate, the schedule will see some of the remaining days of the week shifted around. Here's a breakdown by collection days of the week - direct from the city's website:
Accelerated Garbage pickup. Monday pick up will be Monday, Tuesday place out on Monday. All other days place trash out two days ahead of scheduled pick up day.
The "two-day early" resulting schedule will allow for no collections to happen on Thursday or Friday.
As far as recycling goes, there will be no changes to homeowners who normally see their recyclables picked up on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. Thursday collections will be delayed by one day. All recycling questions should be directed to Hartels/DBJ by calling 218-729-5446.
The City of Superior usually alters garbage collection schedules to accommodate respective holidays. Recycling schedules often change at the same time - albeit at (sometimes) different revised dates; this is due to the fact that the recycling collection isn't handled by Public Works Department employees but rather by Hartels/DBJ - a contractor
