One of Superior's most-used thoroughfares is also one of its bumpiest.  And while a real-fix for the frost heaves that plague that road are a couple of budget years off, there is work to resurface and lay some new asphalt down.

A few weeks ago, work crews milled the surface of the stretch between 28th and 21st - the worst of the worst stretch - in anticipation of the new surface to follow.  Many have started to wonder when they would come back to finish the job - especially with the extra-large bumps that were left at the beginning and end of that stretch.  Now we have an answer.

According to the City of Superior's facebook page, work should begin on that stretch of Hammond Avenue the week of July 8.  At the same time, the city also shared the news that a re-striping project for Hammond - between Belknap and 21st - will happen a little sooner - on June 27.

The Hammond Avenue road project is just one of many that the City of Superior is tackling this summer. Click here for the list.
