Superior Public Library Offers Digital Newspaper Access Via Newsbank

It's a changing world!  The Superior Public Library makes it easy to keep up - with a wide-variety of services and resources tailored to the needs of its patrons.  A new resource continues that trend.

One resource that many have depended on the public library for is access to newspapers - whether local or national.  The Superior Public Library has always carried a generous amount of daily and weekly newspapers in their standard print forms.  As the majority of newspapers in our area (and around the country for that matter) have shifted their business models to online or virtual editions, that access has been more difficult for some customers.

To fill the need, the Superior Public Library has now started to offer a service called Newsbank - free to all patrons with their library card. News bank provides full-text, digital access to hundreds of U.S. newspapers - including the Superior Telegram and the Duluth News Tribune.

Here's a description of how it works - courtesy of the Superior Public Library's website:

"[T]his fully searchable collection provides online access to electronic editions of the Superior Telegram and the Duluth News Tribune, among many others. Using your library card, you can access full-text news articles, editorials, reviews, birth and marriage announcements, obituaries and a variety of special sections."

The Superior Public Library is currently open - without an appointment - Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday's 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.  Curbside-only service is available on Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
